After looking through all the collections, here is the Trend Report For Resort Collections 2014…
The New Shape.
Narciso Rodriguez, Chloe.
For as long as we can remember, the trouser trend has been very slick, straight and skin hugging. However, throughout the Resort Collection we have seen the return of the baggy trouser. Elegant, Low slung, relaxed and loose, these trousers are perfect for your winter get away.
Tory Burch, Oscar De La Renta, Roberto Cavalli.
Playing on the bohemian chic idea, we see a fuller range of crafted pieces that bring a more artisanal feel. Hand created details are used such as needle point, crochet and appliqué.
Derek Lam, Sportsmax.
Rather than being over exposed with your abs on show, there is a more modest and playful approach. The idea is to layer over high waister skirts and shorts, so that it hints at your body.
Jason Wu, Balmain, Christopher Kane.
With denim this season, its all about light and washed looks with paler shades playing a huge part. There is no shredded or distressed looks, rather a more clean and clinical approach.
Fausto Puglisi, Prada, Jason Wu.
Tropical prints are a must with the Resort collections. there are vivd colours and images mashed up to create a bold and beautiful statement.
Christopher Kane, 3.1 Phillip Lim.
Rather than the expect lace experience, we have seen a more graphic approach from designers. Meshes and webbed overlays which are light a subtle have pushed there way forward for a modern sweep.
Valentino, Louis Vuitton, Chanel.
As expected from the Resort collections, we have seen a nautical hint throughout. With Marine inspired silhouettes and navy, red and white stripes, how could we not resist.
Say goodbye to your safari stereotype, and say hello to the vibrant new suedes. Emerald greens and lilacs have been introduced to freshen up a resort staple. We have seen this in Gucci, Calvin Klein Collection and Emilio Pucci.
